Vees Schedule
Tomorrow’s home game against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs is the only action over a span of 9 days for the top team in the BCHL. The lull in the Vees schedule could be considered the proverbial ‘calm before the storm’ as the final 10 games of the regular season occur in just 23 days.
While the Vees have a busy finish to the 60 game season, the scheduling gods have left 2 Trail, 3 Merritt and 2 Alberni Valley matches in the final 13 games, meaning the Vees will have to suffer a serious lapse in their play to lose top spot in the Interior Conference.
Scoreboard Watching
Some great jockeying for position in the Coastal Conference this weekend as Nanaimo, Surrey, Langley and Burnaby are all vying for top spot. Burnaby is in Nanaimo tonight while Langley visits Surrey to kick off a busy weekend for the top guns out west.
In the Interior, the ‘Big Four’ all have weaker opponents this weekend as Salmon Arm, Vernon and the Vees each see Alberni Valley in 3 consecutive days. Also, Quesnel hosts Vernon and Salmon Arm this weekend, the Westside Warrrios will battle the Centennials for the dozens of fans in Merritt and Sunday features the most intriguing Interior pairing of the weekend as the much improved Prince George Spruce Kings host a Salmon Arm club that hasn’t looked the same since losing Evan Pighin to the Chilliwack Bruins.
