Press Clippings: Thursday’s Herald

The Penticton Vees embark on their final road trip of the regular season today. The Vees face the Alberni Valley Bulldogs Tomorrow, play Burnaby Saturday and suit up for their 3rd game in 48 hours Sunday afternoon in Surrey.

With just 5 games remaining, the Vees are focused on locking down home ice and hitting the playoffs in full stride. Home ice for the Fred Page Cup (BCHL Final) switches over to the Interior Conference this year, also BC has home ice in the Doyle Cup (BC vs. AB), meaning the Vees could conceivably have home ice through to the Royal Bank Cup if they hang onto top spot in the Interior and put a run together in the post-season (that’s a big IF).

Tomorrow’s game shouldn’t lack any intensity as the Vees look to avenge an embarrassing home loss to Alberni on January 19th. Bryant Perrier (former Vees Coach), Allan Kerr (OHS/OHA Partner) and Chris Moulson (who requested a trade in the Fall) all especially enjoyed sticking a loss to the Vees last month, and the Blue, Black and White will be eager to return the favour on the Island.

Saturday, the Vees make their only visit to Burnaby, where league leading scorer Carlos Finucci and fellow snipers Brodie Reid and Cody Campbell have their second and final crack at beating the Vees. The talented trio have combined for 250+ points thus far this season, and are in the top 7 point getters in the BCHL.

Sunday Tough-guy Scott Brownlee, who now dons Surrey threads, should face the Vees for the first time since his request to be moved was granted in the Fall. Brownlee just returned to the line-up after missing 7 games due to injury.
