Vees Waiting for Dust to Settle

February 26th, 2008 · No Comments

With a First Round Bye and 10 days until their next action, the Penticton Vees don’t yet know who they’ll face in the playoffs, but neither does anybody else in the BCHL. In fact, the remaining 3 games in the BCHL schedule will determine what the first round match-ups will be in both the Interior and the Coastal Conference.

Tonight, the Prince George Spruce Kings host the Quesnel Millionaires in the first of a Northern Home-and-Home. Should Prince George earn all 4 points, they will jump over Trail in the Interior Standings and face Vernon (4) in the opening round. Anything less than 4 points, and PG will face the Salmon Arm Silverbacks (3) in the first round.

[The Vees will play the lowest seed to advance to the second round]

Out West, the Langley Chiefs and Surrey Eagles wrap-up the BCHL regular season Wednesday Night. A Surrey win would move them up to 3rd spot where they would face Powell River (6), where a Surrey loss or tie would have them face the suddenly hot Victoria Grizzlies (5).

So, with each BCHL playoff team still waiting to see who they’ll play, all eyes will be on the final 3 games of the regular season.
