Game 3 Notes

April 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

The Doyle Cup resumes tonight in Penticton, home for the 2 to 5 remaining games of the Royal Bank Cup Qualifier.

Here are some ‘need to know’ notes for tonight’s Game 3:

* The Vees have lost 2 straight entering Game 3, they have yet to lose three in a row this season.

* The Vees hadn’t trailed in a playoff series until the Doyle Cup.

* The Kodiaks make their first trip to historic Penticton Memorial Arena in the franchises history (most certainly their last too).

* The Kodiaks have won all 4 Doyle Cup appearances in their history (’01,’03,’05,’07)

* The home team (that hosts the second half of the series) has won the Doyle Cup every year since the Chilliwack Chiefs lost to the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in 2000.

* The Vees have 7 wins in 8 home playoff games in 2008.

* Joe Colborne leads Doyle Cup scoring with 1 Goal and 3 Assists, 5 other Kodiaks have 2 Points as does Eric Kroshus who leads the Vees with 1 Goal and 1 Assist.

* The Kodiaks are 3/11 on the Power Play, The Vees are 2/11

* Kodiaks G Allen York: (2-0), 1.98 GAA, .935 GAA

* Vees G Alex Evin: (0-2), 3.52 GAA, .860 GAA
