* With three of a possible four points taken from the opening weekend, the Vees have to be satisfied with their start to the season. There certainly was mistakes and rookies looking like rookies, but this is early season hockey in the BCHL and exactly what we see each September.
* The Vees now have a lengthy 12 day break until their next game, providing the coaching staff with a great opportunity to iron out any breakdowns from games 1 & 2, and more time for this group to come together.
* Shawn Mullin (Smokies Play-by-Play) has more on Saturday Nights 5-4 double overtime thriller in Trail.
* While the Vees perhaps could have fared better for their efforts in Trail, they did escape Westside with two points, salvaging the night with a particularly strong third period of play.
* The BCHL launched a crisp new website last week to coincide with puck drop of the 08/09 season. There is even 4 new BCHL Bloggers operating from the League’s website (the more the merrier). Be sure to check out the new page.

I have to admit I didn’t really comment much on the Vees in my update. Was kind of scrambling around all night so hard to get a good read on the team. A lot of skill again this year. Oulette particularely impressed me. I know a few of my friends quickly became fans of Milan.
