1) When is a point more than a point?
a) When you score with less than 10 seconds left to force OT
b) When you are playing without 3 regular Defenders
c) When your Head Coach & GM is absent from the bench
d) All the above
Tough decision here, but you have to go with ‘d)’. The Vees certainly overcame many hurdles in earning a point each of the aforementioned were challenging.
2) Who stood out for the Vees in the OTL?
a) Mitch Labreche dropping the mittens to stick up for a teammate
b) Denver Manderson’s last second heroics
c) Bob Pond filling in admirably on the blue-line
d) The whole roster stepped up with 4 regulars out
Again, you have to go with ‘d)’. This may have been the best ‘team effort’ of the season, and they did out chance and out-shoot Trail in the OTL. Although part marks should be given for ‘a)’ as Mitch’s tilt clearly swung momentum in the Vees favour, as they tied the game shortly after the fight.
3. What Friday Night development are you excited about?
a) Perdicaro-Manderson-McKenzie - the Vees new top trio
b) Johansen and Johnston’s progress as BCHL players
c) The D-core’s play with 3 regulars missing
d) Milan-Ouellette-Viselli - high speed/high skill/low clearance - new line upfront
‘c)’ is the correct answer. The Vees should be blushing with all the depth they have showing on the back end. Full marks for Jobke, Krogh, Goyens, Pond, and Westover
TIME UP! Pencils down.
