Derik Johnson is the newest member of the Penticton Vees.

The 18-year-old rearguard has been acquired from Cedar Rapids of the USHL where he had been used sparingly.

With Nicholas Goyens’ situation reaching a stalemate, the Vees needed to add another defender.

16-year-old forward, Ryan Johansen has committed to the Northeastern Huskies for the 2010/2011 season.

Johansen joins recently acquired Brodie Reid as a Northeastern Recruit. Johansen has 2 goals and 6 assists 27 games this season. Johansen is one of just nine 1992 birth year players in the BCHL.

Penticton and Vernon are the only clubs with a pair of 16-year-olds in the line up in the league.
