New National Rankings

December 15th, 2008 · No Comments

The CJHL’s new national rankings emerged today.

The Salmon Arm Silverbacks and their 10 game winning streak have wowed the panel of hockey experts, mad scientists, statisticians and psychics at CJHL headquarters, rising to #1 in the nation. Lost in the success the Silverbacks have enjoyed is the ease of schedule the Silverbacks have enjoyed.

The 10 game winning streak includes 3 victories over Quesnel, 2 games with Merritt, two wins against PG, a win against an exhausted Cowichan club (4th game in 4 days), and a pair of wins against Trail. Not nearly as an impressive as one might expect in the wake of the run.

The Man and the Mask

December 15th, 2008 · No Comments

Perhaps it was the return to his old stomping grounds, maybe it was just a continuation of his recent strong play, or maybe, just maybe it was the gorgeous new mask that helped Jordan White to his first shutout of the season Saturday in Prince George.

White has now allowed 13 goals in his last 6 starts a GAA of 2.17.

He gives the Vees Blog a peak at the Ogopogo clad headgear.
