The Vernon Vipers have owned the Vees this season, winnning each of 4 previous meetings this season. If the Vees want to make a run at a first round bye, they’ll have to play the Vipers tighter in their final four meetings of the regular season. Currently the Vipers have an ominous 9 point bulge on the Vees for 2nd in the Interior.
With a Silverbacks loss last night the Vipers are now just 4 points back of the conference lead with a game in hand. A night after beating the aforementioned Silverbacks, the Westside Warriors remain a single point back of the Vees in the race for home ice in the first round of the playoffs.
The Vees come into tonights home game firing on all cylinders, having picked up 13 of their last 14 available points going 6-0-0-1 over their last 7 games. The Vees exploded for 8 goals last night in a rout of the Trail Smoke Eaters.
The Vipers have made waves around the BCHL with their recent addition of Cameron Brodie and Mike Leidl (for John Digness and Steve Tressiera and futures). The newcomers are big, strong, veteran and will patrol a Vipers blue-line that may be the toughest in the league (they are already allow the fewest goals in the BCHL).
