Sunday’s weekly poll question asked about the Vees Goaltending situation (”Who is the Vees top Goalie?”) and seemed to hit a nerve with Vees Fans and Blog Surfers as 147 votes were cast in just 3 days.

Here’s a look at the results

Bonar had a huge edge in votes early but Whitie’s backers have been getting at it lately.

Here’s a look at the statistical breakdown of their last 5 starts each

- The Red Highlight shows White was yanked from the 5-2 loss to Salmon Arm

- The Green Highlight shows White’s ’strength of opponent’ is much higher than that of Bonar’s. White’s opponents have a higher winning percentage and are higher scoring teams, though Bonar has seen more shots in his last 5 starts (because White was pulled vs. Salmon Arm after 42:12 of the game)

- The Yellow Highlight shows straight up netminding stats that don’t take into consideration the opponent. Bonar has a superior S%, and GAA, but White is holding teams to over 2/3rds of a goal less than they are averaging on the season.

- The Blue Highlight shows Bonar gets more offensive support from his team that White (because they are playing weaker teams), though both goalies have got more offensive support in their last 5 starts than the season average.

It will be fun to watch the crease down the stretch as Bonar a White battle for ice-time.
