Brodie Reid and Denver Manderson carry 9 game point streaks into Friday’s gargantuous game with the Westside Warriors. The pair who have played together since Brodie’s arrival on the 27th of November have combined for 33 points over the last nine games while line-mate Garrett Milan has also tallied 13 points over the run.
(the BCHL’s webpage has an error on the first goal from Saturday’s Game with Nanaimo, Reid and McKenzie should have been given assists on Milan’s game tying goal, instead Manderson was credited. The league’s stats haven’t yet been changed…yet)
Here’s a look at the production of the top line over the last 9 games (The Vees are 7-1-0-1).
Garrett Milan (7-6-13)
Brodie Reid (5-7-12)
Denver Manderson (5-16-21)
Not too shabby!
With Friday’s hosting of Westside, the Vees wrap up a 10 game home-stand (elongated with the canceled game in Merritt on December 20th) and have just 4 of their last 13 in the confines of the SOEC where the club is (19-4-0-2).
The challenge for the top line is to continue to produce on the road with opposition coaches having last change and line matching against the Vees. The Vees road record is a woeful 7-10-0-4 on the year, an area that must improve in a hurry if the team has designs on a BCHL title defense.
