With just 9 games remaining in the BCHL’s regular season schedule each team knows where they’ll be seeded to start the playoffs with the exception of the Vees and the Warriors.
Penticton and Westside come into tonight’s game tied for 3rd in the Conference with 77 points, but the Warriors own the tiebreak having recorded one more win than the Vees.
The 3rd seed means an opening round match-up with the Trail Smoke Eaters who have been the worst team in the BCHL of late recording just 1 win in their last 12 games and currently riding an eight game losing skid. While neither the Warriors or the Vees fear a Prince George match-up, the travel and opponent look easier on paper as the 3rd seed rather than the 4th.
The Vees host a Vernon club tonight that cliched top seed in the Interior and home ice in the playoffs last night. It will be interesting to see how the Vipers approach tonight’s game, as they do have another game tomorrow and have a first round bye that will keep them out of game play until March 6th. Will the Vipers ice their best line-up?
The Warriors host the Salmon Arm Silverbacks tonight, a team dismantled by the Vees last night. Will the Silverbacks look to regain form in their final game of the season, or will they fold the tent knowing they will finish 2nd in the Conference and have 12 days to prep for the 2nd round?
The Warriors control their own destiny, as a win would secure third, but any slip in the form of a tie, loss or overtime loss opens the door for the Vees should they find a way to beat Vernon tonight.

What are all the team names Penticton has used in it’s history?
